This is a renovation project for a couple in the historic old Mokotów neighborhood of Warsaw. our bureau, as well as the clients, were committed to preserving the old and historical elements of the space. the key concept was to honor the heritage of the apartment as much as possible.
Heritage became the central theme, woven throughout the design in a delicate balance of past and future. we approached the concept from both sides — Heritage as something passed down, and heritage as something to be passed on to future generations. this duality can be seen in the way old, vintage objects are combined with modern, bold materials.
We kept the original hardwood flooring, incorporated vintage furniture pieces, and created custom furnishings that will be treasured for years to come. this approach resonates perfectly with the location — Old Mokotów is known for retaining the atmosphere of bygone eras within the modern city of Warsaw.
The combination of the original flooring, deep brown woods, bold red lacquer, and sleek steel captures the essence of this duality. this home is a true testament to preserving the past while embracing the future.
